Hazardous areas exist in many industrial and commercial facilities. This course is designed to give participants a sound understanding of main requirements for electrical hazardous area classifications.

Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to:
- Identify the appropriate hazardous area classification codes, standards and recommended practices for a given situation
- Define hazard and classify hazardous materials
- Understand the nature of the risk and the necessity to eliminate sources of ignition
- Comprehend the relationship between electrical engineers and other disciplines
- Have a better idea of the ventilation concept.
